A two participant Specialist Disability Accommodation home in Sunshine North, in Melbourne’s west. It is built to the High Physical Support design category, which is the highest of the four SDA categories and is built for people who need a lot of physical assistance day to day.
Each participant has their own bedroom with an ensuite, and the home is finished and furnished, so it is ready to move into rather than something you have to set up first.
An overnight room, so support is there when you need it
The home includes an OOA room, which stands for Overnight Onsite Assistance. It is a separate room for a support worker who stays overnight, so there is someone in the house at any hour without them being in your space during the day.
How much support you use is up to you and your plan. As your confidence grows, the arrangement can change with you.
How SDA works in this home
Specialist Disability Accommodation funding pays for the home itself. Your day to day support is funded separately, usually through Supported Independent Living in your NDIS plan. The two sit side by side.
