SIL housing and disability accommodation in Chadstone, Melbourne, with supported independent living (SIL) from our own team. Purpose-built SDA apartments in Chadstone, in Melbourne’s south east, around a three minute drive from Chadstone Shopping Centre with its supermarkets, cafes, medical centre and bus interchange. The building has lift access, and each apartment is built to the Improved Liveability SDA design category.

You don't need SDA funding to live here: the apartments were set up for people with SIL funding but no SDA funding. Participants with SDA funding, and short stays on Medium Term Accommodation, are welcome too. Not sure where you stand? We can help you understand your options.

A 24/7 concierge model, so support is always on the floor

Support in this building runs on a 24/7 concierge model. Every floor has a support worker on it, in their own room, on call at any hour. If you need a hand at two in the afternoon or two in the morning, someone is already there.

The point of it is independence. The support is close by so you can do more for yourself, not less, and how much of it you use is up to you. As your confidence grows, the arrangement can change with you.

How SDA works in this home

If you have SDA funding, it covers the apartment itself. You don't need it to live here, as the apartments were set up for people with SIL funding. Your day-to-day support is funded separately through the support budget in your plan, and Resilient Life Care delivers that support, including active overnight support.

The building has nine apartments: six one-bedroom and three two-bedroom, each with its own bathroom. Availability is limited. Enquire and we will walk you through the apartments, the funding and the support arrangements.

Staying here on MTA

These apartments are also open to Medium Term Accommodation (MTA) stays. MTA is NDIS funding for a place to stay, usually for up to 90 days, while your long-term home or supports get ready. The NDIS gives examples such as leaving hospital, waiting for an SDA home to be ready, or having home modifications done (source: ndis.gov.au).

MTA funding covers the apartment for the time you stay, up to the NDIS daily price limit. It does not cover food, internet or electricity, and your day-to-day support is funded separately through your plan, with the same 24/7 concierge model. Read how Medium Term Accommodation works.

Can I stay here on Medium Term Accommodation (MTA)?

Yes, if the NDIA funds MTA in your plan. These apartments are open to MTA stays as well as SDA and SIL. MTA is NDIS funding for a place to stay while your long-term home or supports get ready. Call us on 1300 136 694 and we will talk through whether it fits your situation.

Do I need SDA funding to live here?

No. The apartments were set up for people with SIL funding but no SDA funding. Participants with SDA funding are welcome too, and for a shorter stay while you wait for your long-term home, MTA funding may apply. We can help you work out which one fits.

How long can I stay on MTA?

The NDIS usually funds MTA for up to 90 days, and may fund longer in limited cases, if there is evidence you need it because of your disability support needs (source: ndis.gov.au). We will talk with you about what comes next before your stay ends.
